We, like any business, have every day environmental impacts, which we are striving to reduce. However, we are particularly conscious of the risk of environmental pollution incidents, which may result in significant damage to the environment and to the communities in which we operate.
Ensuring that such incidents do not happen is the top priority for our environmental programme and we aim to ensure that we are fully compliant with environmental legislation. To this end, we have developed a register of legislation for Royal Mail and identified areas of risk. A programme of measures are in place to ensure compliance, among which have been environmental impact assessments for our oil storage installations and identification of remedial works to ensure compliance.
