1st Class People Awards website copy – regional winners announcement
Royal Mail is delighted to announce the names of its 30 regional winners of Royal Mail’s 1st Class People Awards. The judges had a tough task choosing winners from very strong regional shortlists. Candidates were nominated for their charity fundraising, service to the community – going beyond the call of duty – and for one-off acts of life saving or bravery.
These postmen and women now go forward to the national final, to find a ‘postman or woman of the year’.
Because we have received so many nominations relating to life saving and acts of bravery, and describing spectacular fundraising efforts, Royal Mail will be giving three national awards: to the overall winner of the 1st Class People Award, a Bravery Award, and an award for Fundraiser of the year.
The overall winners of the 1st Class People Awards will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Royal Mail Chief Executive Adam Crozier in London on 21 March, which will be attended by the following regional winners:

All customers who nominated Royal Mail people for an award will have their names entered into a prize draw to win a holiday worth £2000. The name will be drawn at the 1st Class People Award ceremony on 21 March, and the winner contacted by post.
