As the Universal Service Provider we are committed to providing a postal delivery to every address in the UK every working day, with a few exceptions, and daily collections from each access point. We also consider those who find it more difficult to access our services. The documents below detail our commitment to people who live in remote areas and have limited access to postal services.

Postal voting is particularly useful for people with mobility difficulties. We are working with local authorities and the Electoral Commission on a number of postal voting pilots and we have just produced a best practice guide for postal voting. Although aimed primarily at local authorities, it is a useful tool for anyone interested in this field.

There are approximately 8.6 million people in the UK covered by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, which represents about 15% of the population. We are continually working to improve the access to our products, services and facilities for both our customers and our employees.
We will work within the terms of all existing and emerging legislation that are covered within our own policies including our Disabled Customers Policy, Diversity Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy. Our aim is to ensure that all our customers and employees are treated fairly and equally in the provision of all our services. |
