Disabilities |
Dropping a Line will target vulnerable people over 55 to rekindle and share their existing skills in reading and writing. They will be encouraged to pick up a pen and write to others - either housebound adults or schoolchildren. Volunteers will be identified through Age Concern Stockport and given one-to-one literacy support and aids to help them see or hold a pen where required.
The National Literacy Trust have given their support to the Fund and further details of each of the projects for 2001 and 2003 can be found on their website www.literacytrust.org.uk. |
