Regulation

In the UK any company that delivers letters under 350 grams must be licensed to do so by the Postal Services Commission, Postcomm, and Royal Mail operates under this licensing regime. Regulation is a complex area but essentially our licence is ‘a regulatory contract’ setting our service standards, the revenues we are allowed to receive and the obligations we must meet. This section of our website contains a variety of papers prepared by us on regulatory issues, including correspondence with Postcomm, our responses to regulatory proposals and a copy of our Operating Licence. We are adding material in stages; further details on Access, Standards of Service and general issues will appear here shortly.

Please visit our Regulatory Financial Statements section.
