The Disability Action Centre (DAC) was established in 1993 as the Disability Advice Centre.
The team has practical expertise in disability issues and provides an advisory and awareness service for all employees, agents, employee’s relatives and external organisations.
The advisory service splits into three primary roles:
- involvement with Royal Mail strategy/projects
- advising on development of policy and strategy
- training and induction processes
- various Research Group research and innovation projects
- responding to enquiries on any disability related issue
- general DDA guidance
- supplier details for adaptive technologies, adjustable furniture and other equipment
- details of specialist external agencies
- support group and service provider contacts
- referring an enquirer on to a more appropriate source of advice
- the DDA lead contact for the appropriate Royal Mail business
- the Employee Health Service
- specialist external agencies
- local support group
The awareness service includes:
- presentations both in-house and external
- disability awareness training links
